The exclusive Kiawah Island Club is currently seeking Golf Maintenance Interns for both Cassique and the River Course. Our Internship Program will help students gain practical, hands on experience in golf course maintenance operations working alongside of our Golf Course Superintendents. The Kiawah Island Club has two private golf courses, the River Course designed by Tom Fazio which has Champion Bermuda greens and Cassique, designed by Tom Watson which has TifEagle Bermuda greens. Intern duties will encompass learning all aspects of golf turf management including but not limited to daily set up, all facets of mowing and mower operation/maintenance/set up, water management and irrigation repair, and most importantly proper fertilization and chemical calibration/applications, weed and pest identification. In addition, this summer the Cassique golf course will undergo a semi renovation which will be a significant project for interns to participate in. The Kiawah Island Club’s primary goal of the Internship Program is to successfully prepare students for the turf industry and provide them with hands on learning and working experience at a world-class private Club! |

| Skills/Requirements | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
To be considered for this position, you must be enrolled in or recent graduate of a 2 or 4 year program for Turf Grass Management through an accredited college or university. You must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in English. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required. Must be able to stand and work outdoor in various weather conditions for 8 hour shift. Previous golf maintenance experience is preferred, but not required. *Pay is $10 per hour. Housing is provided and one meal per day during work shift.
