EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

College Bound Dorchester seeks an experienced Accounts Receivable & Grant Accountant is responsible for contract administration from pre-award through close-out.  The Accounts Receivable & Grant Accountant assists with proposal preparation, award administration and compliance issues.  The Accounts Receivable & Grant Accountant ensures organizational compliance with grants/contracts and works to improve processes and maximize contract revenue.

 

YOUR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Monitor budget and financial reporting deadlines for key public and private grants;
  • Collaborate with Development and Program staff to prepare project budgets consistent with program goals;
  • Prepare and submit budget revisions as required;
  • Monitor staff allocations across key public and private grants, and work with HR and Program staff to ensure adherence with grant requirements;
  • Track all budget expenditures, and communicate variances to Program Leadership timely;
  • Prepare billing, and month end close entries as required;
  • Develop and maintain strong partnership with internal stakeholders and funders;
  • Respond timely to all Funder requests;
  • Assist in Annual Audit and other audits as required;
  • Be the subject matter expert (SME) on all key grants, understanding key requirements, and providing recommendations where necessary;
  • Develop and maintain strong competency of Blackbaud FE system, and other related billing/reporting systems;
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic contract billing files;
    • Adheres to all protocols and norms for communication and professional conduct, e.g. Email and Phone Communication Protocol, Communication Norms.
  • Fulfills all outlined and related functions in a professional, timely, and thorough manner;
  • Completes other duties related to this position as assigned by your direct supervisor.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications listed below.  The qualifications listed are considered minimum qualifications, unless noted otherwise.

Education:   Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Business Admin, Finance or Accounting

 

            Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Three to five years of experience in contract management;
  • Experience working with Blackbaud FE system preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Team-oriented, and have an ability to maintain a good working relationship with others;
  • Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively;
  • Desire to build a strong workplace culture in a mission driven organization that is undergoing organizational change;
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and a strong track record of meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative and operate effectively in a variety of situations;
  • Process-oriented but flexible and adaptable to organization needs;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook;
  • Ability to travel between sites and within the community - valid driver’s license required.

EVALUATION

Formal evaluation twice per year by supervisor against standards outlined in evaluation

protocol, ongoing informal evaluations, progress toward goals outlined in Individualized

Professional Development Plan.
