To provide support to the Sales Department and U.S. Pipe Customers by providing professional specification review and advice, developing layout design drawings, creating accurate construction bills of material for release for manufacture (including pricing from Sales Dept direction), and providing training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses AUTOCAD or available software to draw project layout using quoted materials and create accurate and complete bill of material required to build project. Provides drawings and BOM to customers for approval. Coordinates with customers to revise/update/value-engineer the construction bill of material until final approval for manufacture.
Reviews plans, specifications, and sales quotation for preparing drawings.
Uses sales quotation and final negotiated sales price basis to re-price project BOM.
Releases material for manufacture with Project Managers/ISR’s as necessary.
Provides backup support for Estimator, Project Manager, Inside Sales Reps, etc. when required by Managers.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by Managers.
Skills/Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
CAD experience required.
Previous experience in the construction field or civil engineering field, such as an estimator, draftsman, designer preferred.
Excellent mathematical skills.
Ability to read engineering plans and review specifications accurately.
Good computer skills.
Ability to work together with others effectively in team oriented processes.
Qualifications:
2 year Tech Degree or Drafting Certification Required or equivalent experience.
2 - 4 years related work experience preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The employee will be working in an office environment with limited business travel. However, it will require some business travel to customer sites and to the various pipe plants, thus exposing the employee to Foundry operations. The employee will be exposed (very briefly) to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, Walking, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing, and Sitting. The majority of the actions will be sitting.
