Summary:

Supporting various functional teams within IT to perform IT related tasks. Responsible for work that is less defined in scope but has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide high levels of customer service, with proven experience resolving technical issues within a corporate computing environment.

Scope:

Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a good understanding of IT services; ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Complexity: Works on IT problems of a diverse scope where evaluation of identifiable factors and issues is required. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with personnel at all levels throughout the business.

Supervision: Ability to work without direct supervision required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To respond to support calls within an acceptable time frame
  • Provide support for 2nd and 3rd line incidents for desktop and enterprise applications involving printing, e-mail, network, connectivity issues, remote access and hardware issues for a global organization
  • Maintain and document technical solutions for hardware upgrades, disposal, loaner systems, asset inventory, software inventory, remote imaging, new hire setup, termination, relocation, remote or automated updates, and remote support
  • Apply available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way, and to produce a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature
  • Deploy and maintain software images for desktop PCs, laptops and mobile clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and third party vendors in order to ensure appropriate and agreed services are delivered
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine software and hardware problems.
  • Follow internal IT processes and provide the Service Level Agreements committed to our internal customers.
  • Building and maintaining a shared knowledge base for problem resolution
  • Acquisition integration for end user services
  • Manage deliverables associated with a project by prioritizing, tracking, and completing assigned tasks.
  • Must be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time

Work Experience

  • High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
  • At least 3 years demonstrable experience with information technology and how information technology supports business objectives

 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of information technology and experience relating to information technology issues and problems

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong PC Hardware troubleshooting skills related to PC and laptops, printers and monitors
  • Strong understanding of computer basics including Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, network connectivity and communication protocols
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Maintains current knowledge of information technology and keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with customers and third party vendors in order to ensure appropriate and agreed services are delivered
  • Ability to handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine software and hardware problems.
  • Must be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required to complete key IT projects that can only be performed outside of normal business hours.
