St. John's Hospital is recruiting for a Database Administrator for the IT Department. The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build database systems of high availibility and quality depending on each end user's specialized role.
Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs an d views.
Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
Performs tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privicy and integrity.
Skills/Requirements
·Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
·Minimum 10 years of IT experience
·Must have excellent understanding of SQL database, as well as Windows Server administration
·Must have good people skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
·Must be an integral member of a strong infrastructure team that is capable of supporting the Hospital’s dynamic and fast-paced environment
·Must be a champion for pushing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practices to the infrastructure team
·Must have a sense of urgency in meeting project and task deadlines and in resolving production issues
·Must be very proactive in understanding and staying up-to-date on the current projects in progress, projects in pipeline and operational issues. Similarly, must stay up-to-date with industry technology trends and applicability of software/hardware solutions
