Job Description

Incumbent will carry out various duties in support of Administrative/Clinical systems and end users including:

  1. Perform analysis of workflow;
  2. Assess system needs and requirements;
  3. Plan, design, and test systems and interfaces, manage software implementation and upgrade projects. 
  4. Coordinate work efforts with applicable I.S. and end-user department personnel and coordinate/provide end-user training.
  5.  Document and troubleshoot work involved with systems implementation and maintenance.  Act as liaison between Administrative/Clinical areas, end users, I.S., and software vendors.

 

  • PRIMARY JOB DUTIES include, but not limited to:
  • Analyzes, develops, and maintains computer applications, procedures and other systems that satisfy the needs of the user departments.
  • Provides recommendations and guidance with regard to streamlining efforts and best practices within limitations of information technology capabilities and EHS standards.
  • Creates valid and thorough test scenarios and data. Perform function and system testing and assist in parallel and system stress testing.  Carry out methodical execution of test plans.  Develop thorough test data and scenarios, coordinate efforts with others as needed and review test results with department Supervisors.
  • Act as a liaison between IT, software vendors, department management, and end-users maintaining a current knowledge of customer ongoing needs and issues, current procedures, and use of information systems. 
  • Utilizes good written and oral communication skills in carrying out own position responsibilities, tasks and activities, including all phases of documentation, interactions with vendors, users, co-workers, and management staff.  Provide an appropriate and timely level of information to each as required.
  • Coordinates and installs new software applications with user departments.

 

 





Skills/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:

 

BS or BA required.   MS, MBA preferred.

Minimum of two years of experience with computer information systems, software applications, providing support to users or equivalent experience in data processing preferred.Two years of experience in Radiology, Nursing, Laboratory, etc.

  • Experience in inter- and intra-departmental communications required.
  • Experience supporting MEDITECH clinical applications preferred. PC-based computer skills, spreadsheet, word processing, flowcharting and project management proficiency required.
  • Prior experience managing healthcare software implementations and upgrades preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at various stages of development.
  • Use of standard Office applications required.
  • Project management and presentation software required.
  • Must demonstrate good organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
