The Associate Network Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, optimization, advance support and administration of network infrastructure residing in all Aptean offices and Data Centers. This person will oversee system performance, plan system capacity, ensure processes are well-documented, sustainable and scalable; and continually assesses processes for improvements. 

 

Scope

Knowledge: Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

Complexity: Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analysing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.

Supervision: Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide support for global VOIP and Unified Communications systems
  2. Provide planning, installation, configuration, and upgrade support for LAN, WAN, and data center network.
  3. Support acquisition efforts by setting up and installing networks in acquisition offices.
  4. Establish and maintain service levels; perform basic troubleshooting; monitor network implementations; and manage network alarms.
  5. Manage network monitoring system.  Ensure all devices are being monitored.  Respond to alarms.
  1. Secure network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  1. Provide support for on-call duties.
  2. Help develop policies and procedures related to IT Operations Infrastructure.

     

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree preferred

     

    Work Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.

     

    Knowledge

  3. Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls
  4. Network monitoring tools, (SolarWinds)
  5. Experience and familiarity with Cloud services and solutions a plus
  6.  

  • Experience with VOIP and Unified Communications Systems (RingCentral, a plus)
