Manage patient outreach program, including all communications, planning and travel to hospitals to run celebration events and gain local media coverage.
Develop ongoing communication and network with patients and families, including creation of tools and vehicles to share patient stories and Abiomed’s “Patient First” mission
Implement patient marketing programs
Work closely with all departments within a rapidly growing organization to ensure effective internal communications and strengthening of Abiomed’s corporate culture
Write internal and external communications, create content for physicians, patients, employees and the public.
Manage relationships with existing public relations agencies
Skills/Requirements
Skills needed:
Bachelor's degree with focus on marketing, communications, public relations
> 5 years’ experience in public relations within a hospital, agency or medical device company encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including experience with regional, general and national media.
Patient advocacy experience is strongly preferred
Experience with various media campaigns (social, print, awareness, public relations)
Creative and resourceful, able to “think outside of the box” and deliver ideas proactively
Flexible and able to work effectively under pressure and deadlines
