Under the direction of Cliff Lodge Management Team provides high quality guest service by operating an efficient front desk.  Supervises the front desk employees, assists the Manager with special projects, and coordinates with other departments to provide special requests.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee overall operation of the Front Desk. Plans, directs, organizes and controls work-time behavior of others. 
  • Acts as manager on duty in absence of other Department Heads or Manager.Make recommendations on hiring, retention, promotion, and discipline. 
  • Communicate with management and other departments. Communicate well with front desk staff and keep them informed and updated on rules and procedures.
  • Resolve any guest or owner situations. Answers inquiries and solves disputes pertaining to credit billings and payments. Reviews the agent’s folios to insure correct charges and commission for travel agents.  
  • Reviews room blocking to insure accuracy. Continually monitors tape chart and makes changes as necessary to insure maximum occupancy. Reviews room blocking to insure accuracy. Oversees soft phone reservation bookings as handled by front desk staff.
  • Daily ordering of  newspapers for guests.
  • Providing outstanding guest and owner service. Maintain a high standard of work quality.

  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
Work Schedule
  • Generally swing shift (3pm to 11pm), various days (may be required to work occasionally during the day or night audit as circumstances arise) weekends and holidays required

Specific Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in related field.  Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
  • 2-4 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence. 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Must demonstrate competency in reading, writing and interpersonal communication skills.   Experience working with Word, Outlook, and SMSHost preferred.  Uses general office equipment such as computer, calculator, fax machine, key machine and copier. 
  • Responsible for all cash and other assets contained in the safe.  Responsible for the owners keys to the storage closets and reporting necessary equipment repairs.  Responsible for all room keys.  Responsible for monitoring the use of all departments related equipment to ensure the preservation of Snowbird property.

Working Conditions

  • Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • May include crowded office setting or “close quarters”.
  • General office environment with limited physical activity.
  • Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.  General office conditions prevail. 
  • Other/Additional:  Requires problem solving and initiation of less clearly defined job activities.  May make relatively complex decisions in a timely manner.  Decisions may be made within broad policy parameters and procedural guidelines, where there may be more than one correct solution, and where guidelines need interpretation.  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to think quickly and resolve problems in stressful situations.  May experience stressful work conditions in times of peak occupancy.
