Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach a course in General Chemistry at the Walton campus.  The course covers the foundations of chemistry, chemical formulas and composition stoichiometry, chemical equations and reaction stoichiometry, the structure of atoms and chemical periodicity, types of chemical reactions, chemical bonding, gas laws, and solution chemistry.  Laboratory exercises support lecture concepts.   

The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each Chemistry course offered.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry; two years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level to students who receive college credit;  ability to make presentations using advanced media technology, such as distance learning and online learning applications.
