A key member of the Marketing Leadership team, the Senior Manager, Global Corporate Communications leads Aptean’s global media and press relations, industry analyst relations, internal communications and crisis communications across all channels, including social media. He or she is also responsible for creating core content including thought leadership materials, bylines, white papers, press releases, analyst responses, and social media content.  This person owns messaging to support these programs and works closely with Executives, Product Groups, Sales Management and other Marketing Team members to ensure that all regions leverage and share content where relevant. He or she also plays a pivotal role in all aspects of Acquisition integration and communications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Global Media Relations:
    • Manage local agency resource in North America (when appropriate) and oversee EMEA and APAC marketing teams and resources to achieve earned media placements in target publications:
      • New product announcements
      • Acquisition announcements
      • Customer wins, case studies and customer interviews
      • Bylines/thought-leadership articles
      • Feature comment and management of forward features calendar
    • Selective use of PR wire services to generate coverage
    • Management of Aptean spokespeople during any PR related activities
    • Act as the first point of contact for any media inquiries
    • Monthly measurement and reporting of achieved results
    • Manage Corporate PR budget
  • Global Analyst Relations (primarily Gartner and Forrester)
    • Manage Global AR program
    • Primary point of contact for all Analyst communication (in/outbound)
    • Work with appropriate Product Group VPs and Product Leaders to ensure responses are completed in a timely manner and that Aptean and Aptean products are positioned effectively
    • Manage AR budget
  • Content Generation
    • Work with Product teams to create content, including:
      • Bylines
      • White Papers
      • Press releases
      • Analyst responses
    • Work with Regional Marketing and Account Management to create:
      • Customer case studies (written and video) and manage process for updating and retiring existing
    • Manage Executive approval process for media and analyst related content
    • Ensure all regions leverage and share content where relevant
  • Acquisition Integration
    • Work with Aptean Executive team, Product teams, newly acquired companies and other Aptean Marketing team members to ensure:
      • Initial acquisition communication is executed in a timely manner
      • New products are positioned appropriately within the Aptean portfolio
      • External facing websites are rebranded short-term (potential interim branding) and ultimately content integrated in to Aptean sites
      • Content (collateral) is rebranded short-term (potential interim branding) and ultimately content transitioned to Aptean branding
  •  Internal Communications
    • Manage Executive Internal Communications program:
      • Effective utilization of Aptivity
      • Town Hall content development
      • Adhoc internal announcements as required
  • Crisis Communications
    • Provide guidance and support for communications related to cyber incidents or other corporate reputational risk situations
  • Personnel Management
    • Direct reports – set objectives and review achievement in line with Aptean HR procedures in a timely manner




Skills/Requirements

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree required

Work Experience  

Typically requires a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree. Past experience in an advertisting agency is a strong preference.

Knowledge

Familiar with B2B marketing communications techniques and/or previous work experience in the software/IT sector - preferably focussed on CRM/ERP/SCM.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to drive projects within a cross-functional team and work well under deadlines.
