Define security standards and best practices to enable and protect the business. Guide and assist with tool selection and implementation requirements. Build policies and procedures documents to maintain consistency throughout the company. Working with customers and internal teams to ensure practices, provide technical mentoring and guidance to staff.

Job responsibilities: 

1. Define security standards and frameworks to enable the business
2. Build policies and procedures documents
3. Provide security design and architecture expertise and guidance 
4. Conduct security technical risk assessments of corporate and production infrastructure
5. Drive enterprise focused security improvements and standardization
6. Deliver training and guidance to company employees
7. Create proposals, presentations, drawings and related technical materials

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certifications preferred in Microsoft, Linux, CEH, AWS, but not required.

Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of security and best practices
• Clear understanding of governance – ISO, SSAE, PCI, SOX, etc.
• Experience with networking Windows and Linux platforms
• Experience with security testing tools and capabilities – Nessus, Nikto, Acunetix, Qualys, Rapid7, etc.
• In depth understanding of vulnerability and penetration testing
• In depth understanding of perimeter, web and application security
• SIEM knowledge and experience
  

Skills and Abilities: 

• Understands business and financial fundamentals (cost/benefit, ROI calculations, NPV etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ability to make unbiased decisions based on business needs
• Good personal computer and business solutions software skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to mentor and train others
