Job Description

Under the direction of the retail manager supervises the inventory of Wings, Pipeline and Summit Retail Shop. Responsible for controlling the store's retail inventory.  Executes job expectations in a manner that meets financial targets, creates positive guest experiences, and fosters a productive and enjoyable working environment. 

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Create all new inventory numbers for retail stores in order to assure accurate records and timely availability of inventory for sale.
  • Remerchandising all shops for daily up keep. Restocking and refilling stores with accurate sizes and styles needed for sales floor.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve items that do not scan in the retail system in order to assure accurate inventory counts and sales records.
  • Research Micros/ Stratton Warren inventory discrepancies in order to assure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist retail managers with inventory control and including conducting physical inventory counts in the stores in order to assure accurate inventory records.
  • Process invoices for retail operations in timely fashion and assure all inventory figures compare correctly.
  • Handle all receiving for three stores. Formulate a consistent and efficient back stock system for stock rooms.

Work Schedule

  • Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels. The days scheduled will coincide with the days the store receives the most inventory. May be required to work additional shifts when physical inventory counts need to be completed on a deadline.
  • Current Shifts M,W,Th,F, and Sat 8:00am-4:30pm. off Tuesday and Sunday.

  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • College degree in related field preferred.  Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
  • 2-4 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements

  • Self-starter, ability to work efficiently by yourself and be a team player who is open to feedback.
  • Creative merchandising is a plus, not mandatory 
  • Assists store manager in managing retail inventory.
  • Strong verbal, communicating, and listening skills.
  • Competence in planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
  • Excellence in customer service skills, including the ability to quickly establish positive customer relationships and to resolve customer complaints in accordance with the store's customer complaint resolution policy.
  • Reading, writing and arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. 
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, Stratton Warren, Micros, MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to merchandise three different concept shops: high volume, small boutique, and concept store.
  • Internal applicants, supervisory experience may be substituted with a proven track record in inventory tasks, customer service, attendance, dress & grooming, productivity, team work and an overall demonstrated commitment to the department.      

Working Conditions

  • Will be required to attend department functions and weekly store management meetings.
  • May be asked to work overtime during periods when the store is understaffed.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Involves bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, carrying and performing repetitive movements.      
  • May experience stress from continual work with the public and vendors.
  • May experience stress from supervising staff in a busy working environment.
  • May experience stress from commute, road closure and snow night occurrences.
