Job Description

 This position is primarily responsible for developing new business and managing existing client accounts in the areas of (a) ski groups (corporate, incentive, ski club) (b) summer/fall leisure day functions and overnight leisure groups, (c) local offsite ticket sales, and (d) minor focus on overseas markets, wholesaler and travel industry sales.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Solicitation of ski group day function and lodging business. Implements sales strategy to develop business from ski group markets. Prepares competitive bids for larger trips and solicits the smaller ones. Maintains close involvement with Ski City activities in this area. Works closely with Snowbird Central Reservations and Group Service. Has discretion to sign contracts and bids and to negotiate rates, policies and incentives.
2.    Solicitation of summer day function business and overnight leisure groups. Focus on local corporate market. Works closely with other sales managers in UT market.  Attends various networking and B2B events.
3.    Local market lift ticket sales. Services existing accounts and prospects new accounts. Maintains accurate and timely sales records (using Excel).
4.    Works closely with wholesalers and tour operators, both in terms of servicing existing accounts, prospecting new ones, hosting FAM visits and making sales calls in target markets (typically with Ski City, Ski Utah or other partner.)
5.    Travels 3-6 trips a year. Represents Snowbird at travel industry and other trade show and business networking events.
6.    In conjunction with Group Service managers, ensures timely and accurate preparation for group arrivals. (Tickets, rooming lists, vouchers, welcome functions etc.)
7.    Other duties as assigned by Director of Ski, Tour & Travel Sales and/or Director of Group Sales. 
8.    Travel: Occasional business trips within/outside Utah.

1.    Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2.    Occasional contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
3.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
-  College degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.


Specific Requirements:
-  Must be at least 21 years of age.
-  Must be able to ski or snowboard and have the ability to pass a physical capacity screening.
-  Must have a Valid Driver License w/ clean MVR (driving record)


Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
-  Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with some nights and weekends as required by workload and special events.  
     
Mental:
-  Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
-  May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
Physical:
-  General office environment with limited physical activity.
-  Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
