Senior Systems Administrator

The System Administrator will be responsible for system administration efforts required to support our internal business systems and internal development team. The role will include administering our internal CRM system, Windows Servers, SQL Server infrastructure and Job Agent tasks, knowledge management, and support portal infrastructure.

Job Summary :

The senior systems engineer will be responsible for all internal physical storage environments. The role will require administration of on premise EMC VNX and CX storage systems. This position will need to provide support for US Eastern time zone working hours within the India region.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide storage and VMWare support to large and mixed storage environments
  • Display your multi-tasking expertise and patience to troubleshoot critical issues under pressure
  • Perform some of the following tasks:
    • Service provisioning requests for new storage
    • Work with vendor for Break/Fix
    • SAN attach and detach on new storage arrays, switches and hosts
    • Apply firmware, do maintenance tasks on storage, switch and HBAs
    • Analyze performance bottlenecks, suggest and implement improvements and work arounds
    • Produce capacity planning reports and be able to forecast storage growth
    • Implement/Monitor and support any DR function(s).
    • Spot opportunities for automation
    • Need to work in US Shift

Knowledge

  • In depth knowledge of at least one of the following Fibre switch vendor products/software: Brocade, Cisco
  • Knowledge of Unix and/or Windows operating systems
  • Create, deploy, and manage virtual hosts using VMware
  • Knowledge and experience of storage and Brocade switching and Avamar backup
  • Experience troubleshooting and administrating SAN environments (Fiber Channel and iSCSI) 
  • Any strong Linux/Unix/Solaris Administration and troubleshooting skills a big plus
