Senior Technical Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will take on the management of client projects and activities with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and scope. Consults directly with internal or external clients at all levels of management on business goals, tools, and strategy and best practices of software project delivery.  

Purpose

 

·        Plan, manage and successfully complete a range of projects using Computron methodology to the exacting standards of the Company requirements. Projects must be managed within time and cost constraints as well as meeting contractual obligations and customers’ expectations. The role has total responsibility for the success of projects under their control.

 

Major Activities and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Actively manage and participate in implementation projects including, scoping and general adhoc client requests
  • Provide the necessary planning, organisation and follow up from order receipt through to  user acceptance, project initiation, project plan, analysis, system design, specification, development, testing and implementation to satisfy our customer's needs and expectations in accordance with the contract requirements
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Identify and organise with the team members the needs of the project to achieve project goals, including cost and schedule
  • Coordinate and plan internal and third parties/vendors resources availability and allocation.
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks identify potential problems, analyse alternatives and take decisive actions to resolve problems
  • Provide clear and concise communication and timely, tactful responses to customer's needs and concerns
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationships with the client and all stakeholders
  • Effectively manage changes to the project scope, schedule, resources and project costs, risk & quality 
  • Identify opportunities where Computron might increase the level and the scope of services provided to our clients with a view to generate sales and consulting revenue.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.

·        Participate in end of month activities to finalise customer deliverables

  • Such other responsibilities that may reasonably be assigned associated with Professional Services delivery

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Primary Skills

  • Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
  • Previous project management experience with a IT vendor
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the preparation of relevant business and project documentation;
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively both internally and externally at all levels on products, plans and initiatives using Strong analytical, problem solving & conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects of any complexity including projects that span multiple, functions and business units.
  • Flexibility -  Ability to be flexible and take on other tasks as directed by reporting manager
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Commercial awareness.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 7+ years’ experience in project management and service delivery

Education:

  • Preferred Bachelor of Computer Science.  Business, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification or similar is a plus.
