Community Outreach Volunteers represent Rainbow at community events such as health fairs, parades, town hall meetings, and more. Volunteers may help with the Community  Speakers Bureau[VYN1], speaking to community groups and organizations about issues in advanced illness and the end of life.

Outreach and Development volunteers help Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care engage with our community.  These volunteers assist with educational opportunities, fundraising activities and provide a community presence.

Day(s) Needed: Flexible as per the event.

Time(s) Needed: Varies

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successful adjustment to personal losses and no personal loss within past 12 months.
• Successful completion of volunteer training program.
• Clearance from appropriate health screenings, background check, fingerprinting.
• Agree to mandatory policy statements.
• Minimum commitment of 1 year of service.
• Supportive of hospice concept, and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.
• Comfortable working with different cultural and religious values.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous volunteer experience preferred.
• Independent means of transportation.
• Bilingual preferred.
