Job Description

Under the direction of Tram and Lift Manager/ Master/Journeyman
To learn and understand how to repair and install electrical equipment, control systems for all chairlifts, and tram, high voltage distribution system and mountain radio and telephone systems in order to provide consistent, cost effective and safe operations for resort guests and employees.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Work safely with electrical equipment and distribution systems in order to assure personal safety and the safety of guests, co-workers and Snowbird property and equipment
2.    Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on tram and chairlift electrical systems, high voltage distribution system, two-way radio and mountain phone systems in order to optimize operations and business services to guests.
3.    Perform scheduled maintenance, installation and replacement of parts on tram and chairlift electrical systems in order to assure optimal operation and safety of equipment and cost of operations and repairs.
4.    Perform scheduled maintenance, installation and replacement of parts on high voltage distribution systems in order to assure optimal operation and safety of equipment and cost of operations and repairs.
5.    Assist in the daily operation of tram and chairlifts and oversee the daily operating procedures of tram and lift operators in order to optimize the operation of the equipment.
6.    Maintain the inventory of electrical supplies and replacement parts in order to meet budget and operating expectations.
7.    Travel: Occasional business trips within/outside Utah.

1.    Occasional contact with guests.
2.    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
-  High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-  0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
-  Must be at least 18 years of age.
-  Must be able to ski or snowboard and have the ability to pass a knee physical.


Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.  Demonstrate knowledge and record of safety and electrical mathematics.

Administrative:    
Ability to plan and schedule work effectively.  Ability to understand and follow established procedures.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
-   Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
-   Regularly scheduled work shifts, requires being on-call and working weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
Mental:
-   Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
-   May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
Physical:
-   Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-   Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
-   Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
-   Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.  
-   Other/Additional:  Ability to work at hieghts.
