Summary

The Contracts Administrator will oversee management of proposals and contracts. This includes oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and document management. The Contracts Administrator’s role in the contract development process requires close collaboration with various departments, including, IT, Account Management, Business Operations and Finance.

Scope

Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Negotiate pricing, discounts, value or competitive differentiators. Evaluate competitor pricing to maintain competitive positioning in the market. Develop Case Studies to support our value to the business.
  2. Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained
  3. Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables.
  4. Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments.
  5. Improve communications with operations team. Provide detailed instruction and continuous follow-up to support the operations teams in standardized RFP/bid and contract processes.
  6. Ensure compliance to Aptean’s sourcing and contracting policies and procedures for suppliers under management.
  7. Establish relationship with Corporate Legal and Risk Management to ensure all contractual terms and conditions comply with Aptean standards.
  8. Assist with the implementing and maintaining sustainability and supplier diversity programs for the categories in accordance with client and company requirements.
  9. Conduct local and regional Preferred Supplier performance review meetings, manage supplier scorecards, contract compliance and service obligations.
  10. Support e-commerce procurement initiatives mandated.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

 





Skills/Requirements

Bachelors Degree required.

Work Experience (Indicate the approximate years of relevant work experience necessary for this position)

BS/BA Degree and 5+ years’ related work experience.
