The main role and responsibility of a Buyer is to be in charge of their own category by planning and selecting a curated assortment of products to sell for Fab.

A Buyer is responsible for owning and driving topline direction for their category that is in line with the overall Fab business strategies

              Responsibilities:

·       Generate category goals and category assortment plans that align with the overall goals of Fab

·       Execute Plan for category to ensure goals are hit for category from a revenue & sales growth          perspective

·       Last tier of approval for new products brought into the assortment

·       Strategize and collaborate with Marketing to increase sales and exposure of products

·       Collaborate with other category heads to ensure strategies are aligned

·       Collaborate with other category heads on x-promotion of products sourcing exclusive opportunities

·       Reporting on performance of the category

·       Source new merchandise and review existing items to ensure products remain competitive

·       Negotiate with vendors to maximize margins

·       Keep up to date & predict market trends

·       Liaise with other departments to ensure products get the right marketing focus and attention and products get built properly/accurately

·       Attend relevant trade shows

·       Build strong relationships with vendor partners

·       Participating in promotional activities for products (press events, etc.)

·       Presenting new assortments to executives

·       Getting feedback from customers and utilizing that feedback to make the assortment stronger

Skills:

·       3-5 years buying experience for top retailer, preferably with exposure to e-commerce, dropship and inventory models

·       Preference for exposure to Home buying, especially: home décor/accents, kitchen & dining, home entertainment, home lighting (indoor), bed, bath, cookware

·       Ability to follow through and meet timelines

·       Strong analytical skills

·       Strong proficiency in Excel

·       Teamwork and interpersonal skills

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Strong ability to negotiate with vendor partners

·       Good organizational skills and ability to multitask

·       Ability to work in fast-paced environment

·       Creative flare
