As a Product Manager at Aptean GQ Life Sciences, you will have responsibility for the GenomeQuest and LifeQuest products. This responsibility includes the identification of product improvements and additions, conducting market research, gathering customer feedback, generating product requirements, determining specifications, producing timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction, and developing marketing strategies. You will work closely with the Product Leader, Sales, Customer Solutions, and Development. The position is based in the US and may require up to 35% travel, including international travel.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determines customer needs and desires through market research.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines.
  • Produces product specifications and requirements.
  • Assesses the competition by comparing the companies products and pricing with others.
  • Helps define product marketing objectives and product sales strategies, creates related content.6.    Brings products and features to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with development.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.




Skills/Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field required. Ph. D. preferred. 

Work Experience

10+ years of business experience, including experience with enterprise software solutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be motivated, goal oriented with the proven ability to work with minimal direction and maintain a high level of collaboration across geographically diverse teams
  • Ability to organize and prioritize activities to meet given deadlines
  • Possesses a high degree of honesty, integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to credibly present recommendations
  • Clear and concise decision making and issue prioritization
  • The ability to juggle conflicting priorities and needs in a very dynamic environment
  • A life sciences background with experience in product management for scientific software.
  • An understanding of the patent system in the US and other authorities and the the role IP plays in life sciences companies.
  • Strong functional knowledge of the technologies driving enterprise software transformations
  • Advanced Microsoft skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Professional image and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and follow up skills, problem solving and analytical skills
