Job Description

Under the direction of the Controller, coordinates the processing and auditing of bi-weekly payroll and the payment of all associated taxes for the regular and executive payroll.
     

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Coordinates the processing and auditing of bi-weekly payroll, employee information, direct deposit and preparation of manual checks.
2.    Prepares all bi-weekly, quarterly and annual tax deposits and reports.
3.    Prepares Workers Compensation reports and works with auditors in their review.
4.    Handles payroll tax inquiries, garnishments and wage verifications.
5.    Interprets policy, maintains records and develops new procedures, policies and reports.
6.    Prepares and distributes annual W2's.
7.    Maintains timekeeping and payroll systems, including interfaces to other systems.
8.    Reconciles most payroll liability accounts monthly.   

Interactions
1.    Occasional contact with guests.
2.    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
•    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•    2-4 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.  

Specific Requirements:
•    Requires task specific training such as computer software training, typing skills, or other specialized training.  
•    Requires successful completion of one to three months of job specific training.
•    Ten key by touch

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
Ten-key and computer proficiency required.  Requires the operation of basic office equipment, telephone, fax, etc.  Communicates with department managers for payroll training, and distribution and collection of payroll information.  Interacts with accounting in a constant effort to keep General Ledger accounts reconciled with payroll records.  Interacts with employees regarding inquiries, garnishments, tax levies, notices to withhold and wage verifications.  Close interaction with Human Resources, keeping all employee information updated and accurate.  Interacts with representatives from the company's bank for all payroll banking requirements, with Worker's Compensation auditors for inquiries on payments and reports and various IRS representatives for current tax information.

Ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures.  This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures and law.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Administrative:    
Requires an understanding of the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal and financial employee information.  Requires exercise of judgement within policy guidelines, as well as setting standards an/or formulating work rules and procedures within these policies.  Involves coordinating payroll, data processing and human resources interaction, which require problem solving and initiation of activities in work area.  Decisions regarding payroll may be made within broad policy parameters and procedural guidelines, where there may be more than one correct solution, and where guidelines may need interpretation.


Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
•    Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with some nights and weekends as required by workload and special events.  30-40 hours a week depending on work levels.
Physical:
•    Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.  General office conditions prevail.
