Position Information

S/he should have professional qualifications with several years of work experience, specialized knowledge of work area and good people management/interpersonal skills. S/he is able to propose product development strategies, keeps abreast of technology, and manages delivery, quality, cost and recruitment of the project. Has the ability to independently evaluate, choose and implement processes.

Leads the R&D development team for the IMI AOM product program. Manages people aspects with full line management responsibilities for the team members including mentoring and coaching. Leads the development activities and acts as main project manager for release projects. Sets priorities and goals together with the Director, Development. Manages the agile development process with sprint planning and daily scrum meetings. Manages sustainable engineering activities and core support issues.

We seek a dedicated and motivated software development manager looking for the opportunity to apply his or her skills and experience to manage a highly skilled and experienced team focused on our supply chain products IMI Advanced Order Management (AOM) with add-ons. The solution architecture includes a variety of technologies including a .NET-based smart client user interface with a server back-end architecture with Oracle database and applications developed with a 4GL tool (Trim). The add-ons are mainly web applications based on JEE.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Applies knowledge to practical issues often relating to more than one functional area.
  2. Provides overall direction for complex activities - providing guidance and inputs for a medium-sized project or multiple small-sized projects. Resolution of problems require analysis of facts and general principles.
  3. Has a significant impact on a small department/function. The role manages work activities of team through individual contributors.
  4. Responsible for conducting appraisals, feedback to employees and handling team work allocations.
  5. Ability to adapt to various communication styles and interpret non-routine and conflicting information.
  6. Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, determines a course of action based on these guidelines.
  7. Good project and people management skills are required.
  8. Interacts with internal and/or external clients and customers to negotiate and interpret information on projects and unit operations. May consult with senior management.
  9. Ability to do Project Management, Resource Management, Customer Management, Estimation, Release Planning for multiple products.
  10. End to end release project management, from requirement interpretation and estimation to QA and release packaging.
  11. Ability to create motivational and positive culture.

Use own technical and functional skills to also perform own development and QA work

Knowledge and Skills

Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years' experience; or equivalent experience. Typical range of experience is 10-13 years.

Technical proficiency in the product architecture and development platforms is a big advantage, as is domain knowledge from Supply Chain Management and Warehouse Management.
