The Senior Software Engineer is responsible to provide technical innovation and leadership to the Software Engineering Group. This is a hands-on role; the Senior Software Engineer is often required to code and perform other technical tasks themselves, frequently handling the more technically challenging aspects of the system and/or applying their deep technical expertise to solve most challenging technical problems. They are experts in Web/UI architecture, object-oriented analysis, design, and coding, and know how to apply industry agile best practices. The Principal Software Web/UI architect leads in innovation and delivers high results.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in Web/UI software architecture, design, and development
Leads the technical aspects of agile project delivery; ensures projects are completed on time
Exercise independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation for obtaining the best results
Be a leader in innovation and make a huge impact on current and future projects, products, and programs for the Software Team
Advanced Experience with Web/UI architecture and development
Experience designing and implementing Web UI design patterns such as MVM and MVVM.
Key leader able to translate a business vision/challenge into a technical solution.
Identify, communicate and mitigate technical risks and issues.
Able to define high level technical solutions, break down requirements into epics, user stories, understand dependencies and risks, and lead the estimation process for an agile team
Skills/Requirements
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
5+ years SDLC experience, 2+ years using agile methodologies
3+ years embedded software development experience
Development experience with HTML, databases, and RESTful services a must
Experience with Web technologies and design patterns a must
Ability to operate in a broad and diverse set of technologies. Expert in C/C++ development environments.
