Job Description

Assistant Bell/Valet Captain

Under the direction of the Cliff Lodge bell/valet captain
Supervising bell/valet staff.  
Assists guests with luggage and transportation needs.  
Monitors bell storage and shuttles guests around resort in company vehicles.   

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility:

•    Assistant bell/valet captain will follow the same job duties as a bell/valet employee; this position is a working manager position.
•    Will be responsible for guiding the team during their shift and exceeding guest expectations with proficiency.
•     Create and execute employee recognition programs in order to improve employee morale.
•    Responsible for making sure the team has needed resort information i.e. groups, events, mountain closures, etc.  
•    Responsible for ordering supplies as needed for department.
•    Training employees and making sure everyone is following resort and bell/valet standards.
•    Assisting bell captain and hotel manager in various job duties which may include but are not limited to: maintenance repairs, guest issues, and attending employee meetings.
•    Maybe required to do walk thru in parking lots to ensure safety and efficiency in valet parking.
•    Lead by example at all times and keep a positive attitude toward the job, staff, and Snowbird.
•    Maintain communication with necessary departments.
•    Keeping track of Clarabridge scores, comments, and continually improving percentages.
•    Assist in keeping the work area neat and clean by following all applicable regulations.  
•    Responsible for shoveling snow and salting walkways and parking areas.  
•    Travel: occasional trips to Salt Lake City

Interactions
•    Direct and continuous contact with guests.
•    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
•    Must interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner to maintain good working relationshipsat Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
•    High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•      1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
•    Must be at least 21 years of age.
•    Valid Driver License w/ clean MVR (driving record)

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to use arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
Must have the ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative:    
This position requires knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guests/customers.
Must be reliable, mature and able to work with minimal supervision. Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval. Requires some problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations. Requires strong understanding of other Snowbird operations. Should be willing to accept responsibility for his/her actions.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
•    Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends or holidays, depending on business levels.
•     Specific Shift: Must be available any day of the week, flexible schedule between 7:00 am-11:00 pm.
•    Mental:
•    Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
•    May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
•    Physical:
•    Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
•    Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
•    Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
•    Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.  
•    Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
•    Other/Additional:  Position requires an outgoing and friendly personality. Must have the ability to work in a flexible and high-volume environment. Needs the ability to make decisions quickly on guest and employee issues. May experience stress due to consistent high-occupancy levels and weather-related conditions that exist at Snowbird.
