Position Information

The Engineer, QA is responsible for working on testing related problems of relatively complex scope using standard concepts & principles. Works as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance. S/he needs to be hands on in creating feature level test designs and test cases as well as perform tests of all tiers of the IMI Warehouse Management application. S/he is expected to further build WMS domain knowledge and technical/proprietary skills to reach levels of expertise. S/he will also work on tools and process improvements, as well as producing and maintaining product documentation deliverables. S/he should be able to guide new members in the team to help them scale up faster.

 

We seek a dedicated and motivated QA engineer looking for the opportunity to grow his or her skills and experience.  You will be part of a highly skilled team focused on our iWMS product.  The solution architecture includes a variety of technologies including a core .NET application server running against an Oracle database, business logic built in PL/SQL, a .NET-based smart client user interface, wireless handheld and truck-mounted .NET client-server framework, .NET/Crystal Reports output management solution and server components for voice-directed picking.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Create and execute manual feature level test designs and test cases for all tiers of the IMI Warehouse Management application.
  2. Perform function tests of bug corrections.
  3. Participate in project test plan, test design and test case reviews.
  4. Participate in product design reviews and product documentation reviews.
  5. Acquires very good understanding of core product modules and is able to work on main functionality and flows.
  6. Creates and maintains product documentation deliverables and supports product translation work.
  7. Understands Engineering Process, Agile methodology and Software Development and Testing cycle, and various testing tools used. Assists in improvement of test and documentation tools and processes.
  8. Overview of features of one secondary product (IMI Advanced Order Management).
  9. Follows best practices for Testing.
  10. Is able to guide and help other team members to learn and scale up faster on process

 

Work Experience (Indicate the approximate years of relevant work experience necessary for this position)

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1 year and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience. Typical range is 2-5 years.

 

Knowledge

SDLC, Test Design Techniques, Test Management, Estimation Testing, Test Case Documentation, Defect Logging, Defect Analysis, Project Management and version control tools like TFS, ClearCase; Environmental Setup Configuration, Debugging, knowledge in Programming/Scripting languages like .Net/C#, PL/SQL, general SQL, Web Service API testing, XML/XSL, SOAP, etc; working knowledge of Oracle (or similar) database concepts, including installation/configuration/Admin, and database query tools (e g TOAD). Domain knowledge about Supply Chain Management and Warehouse Management is an advantage.
