Job Description

Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.

Responsible for maintenance and appearance of the Snowbird Center, and Creekside Lodge. Makes work schedules, trains new employees on proper cleaning techniques, and assist staff with all cleaning and light maintenance as necessary.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility: 
1.  Responsible for daily supervision of janitorial staff.  This will also include hiring, training, recognition and disciplinary action.
2.  Cleaning bathrooms with chemical use and knowledge of cleaning methods. Physical exertion of lifting up to 75 pounds.  Standing and walking for long periods of time.   

3.  Able to work in a extreme weather conditions.
4.  Mechanical minded using a automatic floor machine for floor cleaning.
5.  Able to interact with guests and customers of the resort in a friendly and accommodating manner.

 
Interactions
Guest Contact: As a supervisor this individual will have frequent interaction with guests and customer service.  Professionalism and an accommodating attitude are required.

Internal Contacts: This individual will have frequent interaction with other departments and upper and lower management levels.  Positive internal service is required.

External Contacts: This individual will be required to up hold a professional relationship and presentation when representing the company to outside vendors, media, consultants, guest and community groups.

Supervision/Management: As a supervisor  he/ she will have the opportunity to assist and manage supervisors, and line employees during their shifts.  Must be able to demonstrate patience, and the ability to work well with  coworkers in a structured interaction.

Minimum Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent skills and experience.

Experience: Must have two to three yrs. job-specific work experience as a building technician with demonstrated competence.

 Specific Requirements: Must have a knowledge of MSDS sheets.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Interactive Competencies: Must be able to interact with guests and customers of the resort in a friendly and accommodating manner.  Must be able to work well with others and coworkers.

Technical Competencies: Knowledge of Spanish language preferred. 

Administrative Competencies: This individual must be able to read, write and communicate well with others.  This ability must be demonstrated through basic competency of reading, writing, speaking, simple arithmetic and interpersonal relations.

Working Conditions
Working Hours: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry you must be able to work any day of the week.  Hours depend on the scheduled shift.  Weekends and holidays are required.  Working during Snownights will also be required.

Physical Conditions: Work may require physical exertion and moderate strength.  Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.  Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and handle cleaning chemicals, which may be toxic.  During the winter months snow removal procedures are required.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Mental Conditions: May experience stress due to customer/employee relations.  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to think quickly and resolve problems in stressful situations.  May experience stressful work conditions in times of peak occupancy and snow conditions.
