OPEN POSITION: Manager, Development

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Manager role is a key role which is responsible for motivating the team members to consistently achieve team goals. This role is intended to be the first stepping stone towards a management career. This role plays an important part in evangelizing the company culture to the teams. Successful candidates should have a propensity to lead and should be willing to put organizational and team objectives over their own.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

·           10 years, out of which minimum 1 year in a managerial role with a good performance record.

-            Excellent programming knowledge and experience in Java/ J2ee.

·           Strong understanding of technology and understanding of the working of technology teams

·           Should be looked up by team members as the go-to person for their area of competence. Should be well-respected by team members and peers. Should have a strong record of coaching and mentoring juniors.

·           Should be a very strong team player with an ability to connect with people in a professional setting.

·           Should have an attitude of taking up ownership and an undiluted focus on getting things done.

·           Should have exhibited decision making skills in their area of control.

· 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·           Responsible for delivering on team and individual commitments including but not restricted to software releases,  development estimates, bug fixes and other commitments including meeting SLAs for maintenance requests and escalations.

·           Provides direction to teams and helps in translating company goals and objectives to team members.

·           Works closely with the GDMs, Program Managers, Product Leaders and members of other teams in order to gather and achieve team tasks.

·           Will be responsible for planning and scheduling of work for the teams. Will play a key role in capacity planning, release planning.

·           Ensure that the team follows all the best practices laid out and has compliance to the defined processes.

·           Needs to be conversant with relevant policies & procedures as applicable.

·           Provide mentorship and progressive discipline direction for direct reports, as required. Seek advice and counsel on the “how to” approach in providing this type of coaching and progressive discipline as needed

·           Contributes to ongoing process improvement for better development productivity and quality wherever needed in the organization

·           Perform annual performance appraisals, employee rating and employee development plans.OPEN
