Hourly position Pay: D.O.E

Under the direction of Village Maintenance Management
Provides electrical distribution system maintenance and repair. Installs and constructs new electrical service distribution systems. Repairs and installs electrical appliances and machinery.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Responsible for electrical repair and maintenance for malfunctioning electrical equipment.
2. With the guidance of the Journeyman Electrician, diagnoses problems and determines repairs needed.
3. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment. Reviews, services, and repairs all necessary parts.
4. Installs new electrical equipment.  Assists electrician in the planning and installation of new lighting equipment.
5. Perform light paperwork i.e.  filing, ordering and completing work orders and forms.
6. Assists village service staff as necessary. Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs.

Interactions
1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. College degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
2. Minimum 3+ years into the apprenticeship program.

Specific Requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age with clean driving records.
2. Must be enrolled in an apprenticeship program and be licensed by the state of Utah.  

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:
Requires ability to read and write. Requires use of simple arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Must be familiar with proper safety procedures.  Uses hand and power tools, 4-wheel drive truck, electrical test equipment, benders, pipe threaded, metal punch, etc.

Administrative:
Requires some exercise of judgement within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.  Has significant input into decisions made by others. Must diagnose and apply correct procedures in maintaining a fixing electrical equipment. Responsible for handling all department related equipment with care. Follows safe practices on the job or while on Snowbird property and abides by all rules and regulations.  Reports safety hazards or concerns to supervisor as soon as possible. Must be familiar with safe installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.  Must maintains accurate inventory counts of all electrical inventory and Journeyman Electrician.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
2. Specific Shift: General working hours from 8:00am-4:30pm including weekdays and weekends.

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4. Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
5. Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
