Reporting to the Director of Human Resources - this role will develop, implement and drive human resources solutions for multiple departments, facilities and functions. In partnership with customers and HR teammates, the HR Business Partner will also work to integrate HR strategy with business strategy, build leadership and management capability, support effective performance management and ensure optimal organizational alignment.

Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understands the company’s people priorities. Drives systemic organizational and people strategies that are aligned to the business strategy.
  • Leads various projects across the company or assigned business units.
  • Consults with departmental management teams, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Works with the M&A team and other departments to ensure successful integration for all acquisitions.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.




Skills/Requirements

Education

Bachelors degree in related field required. Masters degree preferred. 

Work Experience

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1 year and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. Typical range is 2-5 years.

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, performance management and local employment laws.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must be customer-focused, have excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must deal effectively with ambiguity, recognize trends and identify systemic approaches to solving problems in a dynamic organization.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and apply policies and procedures to resolve HR administrative issues.
  • Ability to proactively resolve issues, exercise good judgment, ownership, prioritization and display critical thinking.
  • Ability to use business acumen and strategic thinking to provide leadership with proactive solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Experience with H.R. Information Systems a plus. Technical Acumen is required.
  • Must be able to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines while handling multiple projects.
