Under the direction of Public Safety Manager
Responsible for law enforcement, security and the safety of resort guests and employees. Administers emergency medical care. Provides information and performs security functions.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Provides law enforcement and security services.  Patrols all areas of the Snowbird Village or Cliff Lodge, as assigned.  Ensures all buildings are secure and admits authorized personnel to secured areas as necessary.  Investigates all unlawful activities.  Files reports concerning incident.  Works with law enforcement agencies in the filing of reports, conducting investigations and apprehending suspects.  Offers aid to stranded motorists.  Directs guests as needed.  Assists in parking vehicles and relocating vehicles for snow removal.
2. Administers emergency medical aid to victims of accidents occurring at Snowbird or on the Little Cottonwood Canyon road.  Treats injuries. Assists victims of any serious accidents while waiting for ambulance or helicopter transportation.  Documents any incident involving Snowbird property or employees.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.

2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. 6-12 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Valid Driver License w/ Clean MVR
3. The completion of 160 hours of emergency medical training and the passing of the Emergency Medical Technician certification is preferred.  Prefer an individual who is familiar with the Utah Criminal Code.

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:
Prefer Utah state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or be First Aid certified.  Operates a two-way radio, four-wheel drive vehicles and emergency medical equipment. Responsible for the security and protection of all Snowbird property.  Responsible for the routine maintenance of the department's vehicles and equipment.  Must be comfortable with computers, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the aptitude and interest to learn additional job-specific applications and procedures. Must be able to operate fax machine, copy machine, phones and 2-way radios.

Administrative:
Responsible for the safety of all assets, guests and employees of Snowbird.  Follows safe practices on the job or while on Snowbird property.  Abides by all rules and regulations.  Reports any safety concerns to immediate department head and Public Safety supervisor. Must organize, secure and handle material that is highly confidential.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Specific Shifts: 12am-8am.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4. Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
5. Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
