As a member of the virtual account team, the Solutions Consultant (SC) is required to develop a complete understanding of Aptean’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions with a primary focus on Catalyst Warehouse Management System and Supply Chain Execution Suite, TradeBeam Global Trade Management, and Vision inventory management solution. The SC will develop the ability to identify and communicate the unique value proposition of our SCM solutions to prospects, customers, and partners.  Aptean’s SCM solutions include warehouse management (WMS), labor management (LM), transportation management (TMS), demand planning, global trade management, restricted party screening, e-commerce, vendor managed inventory, and order management.

The Solutions Consultant will utilize a consultative approach to build an in-depth understanding of our prospective customers' business problems, objectives, and priorities. The candidate must show an ability to map customer needs to the appropriate solution mix from the Aptean’s Supply Chain solutions and an ability to convince the customer of the business benefits of the solution through interaction, correspondence, proposals, presentations, and demonstrations throughout the sales process.

The role will be based in the North America region, but with responsibility to assist in supporting the sales processes in the EMEA region as well.     

 





Skills/Requirements

Responsibilities:   

  • Effective analytical skills are required to enable the SC to evaluate business requirements and align the appropriate Aptean solution as part of a consultative selling campaign.
  • Help identify, develop, and prove the business case for the Aptean solution by developing solution demonstrations to meet the requirements of the prospect, emphasizing the strengths of Aptean Solutions, and developing alternative solutions to mitigate weaknesses.
  • Ensure highest completion standards in the business sections of RFP (request for proposal) documentation in conjunction with the Account Manager.
  • Perform survey/discovery to understand how a company operates, determine key requirements, and planned goals/vision of the company.
  • Design, develop, and conduct demonstrations and presentations highlighting Aptean’s SCM solutions, product features, and business usage to prospects.
  • Ability to customize demonstrations to the needs of specific prospects (executives, functional managers, evaluation team members, users and IT).
  • Assist the account managers in all stages of the sales process, including responding to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, architecture design and implementation discussions.
  • Support and help identify both Cross Sell and Up Sell opportunities.
  • Provide internal training for other Presales Consultants and Partners on an as required basis.
  • Support various company activities such as seminars, trade shows, and user groups with product expertise, industry expertise, and demonstrations.
  • Frequent travel is required.

Primary Skills:

  • Previous sales or implementation experience with Supply Chain Management solutions, especially Warehouse Management Systems, in an enterprise software environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.  The candidate must be comfortable presenting to executive members of target organizations as well as large groups.
  • Excellent proposal and technical writing skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving with a clear ability to breakdown complex technical concepts
  • Planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the sales process
  • Strong professional presence
  • Strong PC skills with the ability to control a group while conducting a demonstration
  • Quick learner, must be able to learn the software in detail, often working alone without formal training, in a short timeframe.
  • Able to multitask with ease
  • Must be able to think on their feet to questions raised during the demonstrations.
  • Ability to anticipate and overcome objections that may be raised without becoming defensive or losing composure

Education and Experience:                    

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior experience with SCM solutions, especially Warehouse Management Systems, either as a key user, sales person, or implementation consultant  is preferred.
  • Prior pre-sales experience in developing and performing sales demonstrations for software applications, with SCM presales experience desirable.
