Job Description

Purpose
Under the direction of Store Manager
Supervises the daily activities of General Gritts.  Supervises retail cashiers on closing and weekend shifts.  Assists Manager with inventory management, help meet financial targets and creates positive guest experiences.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Sets a good example.  Must consistently adhere to company and department policies and procedures including: attendance, uniform, grooming, productivity, team work and customer service.
2. Responsible for ensuring the store delivers excellent customer service.  Assists with setting customer service goals.  Coaches and monitors employee adherence to service guidelines
3. Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the Store.  
4. Responsible for keeping the store well stocked in a timely manner. Assists Store Manager with managing retail inventory.
5. Responsible for the accuracy of cashier transactions.  Trains and coaches retail cashiers on using X Store.  Communicates transaction related information to cashiers (e.g. new coupons and procedures).  Ensures that cashiers are complying with state tobacco and liquor laws.
6. Responsible for up to 8 employees.  Monitors, enforces, disciplines and rewards employee performance regarding attendance, dress & grooming, adherence to policies & procedures, productivity, customer service and team work.

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.  

Specific Requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Food Handler Permit, Tips Cert.

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:    
Reading, writing and arithmetic with accuracy in counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.  Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, Stratton Warren, Micros, MS Word and Excel. Safely operate a meat slicer and other kitchen appliances. Must have the ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative:    
This position requires knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guests/customers. Ability to accurately manage inventory. Exercise judgment in accordance with company and department policies and procedures. Multi-task and prioritize work activities to complete required tasks in a timely manner.  Delegate tasks to Retail Cashiers.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels. Most shifts will include nights and weekends.
2. Specific Shift: Store hours daily 8am-9pm (winter) 8am-8pm (summer)

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
2. Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
4. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
5. Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
