The responsibility of this role is to provide support to the License Management team in projects related to, but not limited to: management of contracts, grading contracts to determine level of legal risk, monitoring and asses any customers who are flagged as a potential restricted party, monitoring and completing any tickets received in a timely and accurate manned,  and the creation of legal paperwork for assignments, name changes, decommissions, audits, term licenses and product swaps as they are identified in the ticketing support system.      

This diverse role interacts with Account Management, Legal, Finance, Customer Solutions and Support.

Principles, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to both the ticket system and the license management email address in a timely manner.   Work with license management team on a daily basis.
  • Legal operations:  assignment paperwork, name change paperwork, de-commissioning paperwork, and product swap paperwork.  
  • Coordinate with Aptean worldwide offices to locate, scan and upload missing contracts into contract storage site. Work with acquisition team to manage transition of contracts to Aptean. Upload all new and signed contracts and other legal paperwork into the contract storage site.  Re-name contracts into new naming convention as needed.
  • Manage the contract database
  • Using the VSOP attributes, re-grade existing contracts and apply grading to new contracts going forward (ACR)
  • Restricted party screening of all flagged opportunities.

Education

BA preferred

Certification: Paralegal/preferred

Associates degree minimum requirement

Work Experience (Indicate the approximate years of relevant work experience necessary for this position) 

Typically requires no previous professional experience. Typical range of experience is 0-2 years.

 

Knowledge

  • 1-2 years of Legal and/or Software contract experience preferred

 

Skills and Abilities 

  • A successful candidate must be able to work under limited technical supervision
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to speak and write English fluently
  • Must be able to read and understand software contracts and interpret software rights
  • Must be able to articulate and describe legal concepts in software
  • Prior use of CRM systems is preferred
  • Project planning skills are required in order to successfully prioritize deadlines
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Self-starter and detail oriented
  • Quick learner and adaptable
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Willingness to learn
