Aptean India is looking for a Product Manager who will have the responsibility for supporting Engineering Product development team to develop Software releases as expected by Product Manager.
The Product Specialist will:
• have a good understanding of the market
• be able to understand the market requirements
• Define the product roadmap and specific feature set
• manage product releases
• act as the subject matter expert
• support Product development team on requirement clarifications
This position will also be responsible for supporting customer satisfaction and care issues related to the products.
Key Responsibilities
1. For the product or set of products – work with Product Leader to define product vision, product requirements features and timing of releases.
2. Make feature/quality/time tradeoff decisions for all releases of the products.
3. Develop detailed functional specifications of the product features under consideration and/or selected and approved products.
4. Understand and handle customer dissatisfaction (gap analysis) based on feedback from internal sources, the existing customer base, prospects, and competition and make determination on product modifications and/or improvements.
5. Understand customer satisfiers based on feedback from internal sources, the existing customer base, prospects, competition, and untapped market opportunity for determination of future products.
6. Keep abreast of the overall industry trends and technical innovations and how new technology is applicable for customer usage as it relates to the products.
7. Work with Engineering Product Development teams to gain commitment to schedule shared engineering, research and development and quality assurance people resources and time.
8. Once people resources and time have been assigned, maintain close contact with the PDMs and provide feedback throughout the development cycle, as needed. Work as part of engineering team to support the development activities
9. Support Requirement analysis activity by providing clarifications on the requirements
10. Help the team to understand the details of requirements to facilitate Estimation process
11. Monitor and validate Product release meets the desired results on daily basis
12. Be part of Product Owner in the SCRUM team
13. Establish and maintain effective internal team, interdepartmental and customer/partner communications and relationships.
14. Understand and handle customer care support issues in conjunction with the professional services and customer support teams.
15. Provide demonstrations and light training of new features for internal audiences
16. Work with legal team to ensure that the company’s intellectual property is protected and that business with third parties is transacted with integrity.
17. Ensuring compliance with third-party licenses, including open source
18. Proper disclosure of third-party software usage
19. Supporting compliance with government standards; ensuring that license grants are enforceable
20. Reviewing special wording in customer and partner contacts
Education and Skills
Education BE/ ME in CS or Information Technology or equivalent required and Graduate Degree or MBA, desirable
Experience 4-6 years of experience in a software environment in a Product Management role for an product in IT Infrastructure Management, IT Automation etc.
