Job Description

$10.50 + DOE

Under the direction of Housekeeping Director, Assistant Director and Houseperson Supervisor
Cleans public areas of the hotel.  Delivers special items to guests’ rooms.  Sorts dirty linen and on occasion may clean rooms.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Maintaining all public areas consisting of lobbies, halls, pool, steam room, saunas, and exercise room.
2. Dusts furniture, vacuums and buffs floor.  Scrubs toilets, showers, sinks, and cleans mirrors.  Empties trash, picks up spills and litter.
3. Delivering rollaway beds, dishes, cribs, and any other items required by guests.
4. Assisting in laundry room and with whatever else is asked of by supervisors.
5. Deep cleaning projects to help maintain hotel cleanliness.
6. Travel: None

Interactions
1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills & Knowledge
Technical: 
- Demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, simple arithmetic and interpersonal relations.
- Occasional guest shuttles in Snowbird suburban is helpful but not required. A check of driving record is required to drive any Snowbird vehicle.  

Administrative: 
- Must be reliable, mature and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be self motivated with the ability to keep busy during slow times.
- Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.
- Requires some problem solving and initiation of activities within job description and responsibility limitations.
- Requires strong understanding of other Snowbird operations.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Shifts vary, but may include weekends and holidays depending on business levels.
2. Specific Shift: 8:00am to 4:00pm, 3pm to 11:00pm and 4:00pm to 12:00am.

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4. Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
5. Other/Additional:  Daily work with cleaning chemicals presents some hazards. Must use care with chemicals.  Able to push or pull couches, move tables and chairs, and move rugs.
