Job Description

You will be a member of a cohesive Corporate Communications team with major responsibilities for building, conceptualizing and executing communications strategies and plans that support the organization's growth initiatives, develop ongoing promotional patient campaigns to drive awareness of Abiomed products and solutions and leverage their writing skills and out-of-the box creativity to drive awareness and engagement in the social, consumer, patient and clinical communities.

The Corporate Communications Manager will be fully responsible for driving a patient advocacy program, and developing ongoing communications tools that support sales and marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation of patient marketing programs, including external and internal communication, patient monitoring, and promotional work.
  • Manages patient outreach program, including all communications, planning and travel to hospitals around the country to run celebration events and garner local media coverage.
  • Develop ongoing communication and touch base with patients and families, including creation of tools and vehicles to deliver the patient message.
  • Responsible for written internal and external communications, content creation
  • Manages relationships with existing public relations agencies
  • Writes blog posts, social media updates, etc.




Skills/Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with focus on marketing, communications, or public relations
  • 6-8 years’ experience in public relations within a hospital, agency or large regional organization encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including specific experience with regional, general and national media.
  • This role resides in Aachen Germany and requires fluent German speaking
  • Patient advocacy experience is required.
  • Previous experience with various media campaigns (social, print, awareness, public relations)
  • Tech and design savvy
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task and set priorities, and comfortable with asking for help or reconsideration of priorities
  • Creative and resourceful, able to “think outside of the box” and deliver ideas proactively
  • Knowledgeable about healthcare
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Writes, thinks, and can present clearly, strategically, and persuasively
  • Extremely detail oriented and comfortable developing and/or working with project plans/timelines
  • Flexible and able to work effectively under pressure and deadlines
  • Willing to travel (30% travel)
