Full time Position

Under the direction of Public Safety Manager, protect resort property, and provide law enforcement, security, safety, first aid medical care, and parking services for resort guests and personnel.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility:
        
1. Provide law enforcement, security and medical response services for guests and employees.         
2. Patrol and protect resort property.         
3. Document and record cases, reports, logs and other forms pertaining to events and duties.         
4. Assist Parking personnel with guest / employee vehicle assistance.

Interactions
Guest Contact:
Will interact daily with guests in all aspects of department operations and respond to inquiries about resort facilities, parking and transportation options and safety regulations. Will assist parking personnel with vehicle assistance for guests and employees.
Internal Contacts:
Will interact daily on a personal level with other resort employees, concessions and managers pertaining to Public Safety and vehicle control issues.
External Contacts:
Will interact with public and private organizations servicing the resort, including police, transportation and emergency medical personnel.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
A high school diploma or demonstrated equivalent skills.
Experience: Prior security experience, law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services is helpful but not required.
Specific Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Interactive Competencies:
Must be able to communicate clearly and with precision in a variety of circumstances and conditions, both verbally and in writing. Requires advanced skill in working with others in situations that are often unstructured, sensitive , adversarial or dangerous. Must interact with resort guests and employees in a friendly and accommodating manner.
Technical Competencies:
Must drive assorted resort vehicles and operate telephone and 2-way radio equipment. May monitor fire and other alarm equipment, and use CCTV and key control systems.
Administrative Competencies:
Must complete clearly written reports and other documents relating to cases and incidents in the resort. Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisor approval, and may select from a number of established courses of action.
Working Conditions
Working Hours:
Will work 8 or 10-hour days, possibly over varying shifts with extended hours or overtime in response to situations, business levels or emergencies. May be required to occasionally stay overnight or arrive early in winter conditions.
Physical Conditions:
The inside work environment will often consist of crowded office space and frequent interruptions. Outside work will (seasonally) include severe cold and snow, experienced on foot or while driving vehicles. Will be subjected to vehicle and resort equipment-related noise, and may need to stand or work on your feet for extended periods of time. Some physical lifting may be required.
Mental Conditions:
Must display sound judgment and quick action in sometimes stressful and dangerous situations. Must maintain composure in adversarial situations and calm under pressure, observing legal and department guidelines in responding to criminal or emergency situations.
Travel:
Will commute to and from work by public bus, commercial van or private vehicle, sometimes under severe winter conditions and in darkness. Will drive various department vehicles on property among resort facilities, and may drive off property to other locations, as needed.
