$10.50+graveyard shift differential DOE

Sunday and Monday night

Purpose
Under the direction of Switchboard Manager
Answers and directs telephone calls, gives out resort general information and takes messages as necessary. 

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Daily customer Service – Provides appropriate, efficient and accurate call-handling. Provides positive, polite and professional customer service. Utilizes effective speaking and listening skills.
2. Problem Solving- Provides compassionate and effective problem solving skills, most often by coordinating with other departments and Switchboard management.
3. Contributing to a Positive Office Environment – Maintains a positive demeanor with co-workers and customers in a variety of situations. Conducts positive and respectful interactions with and in the vicinity of co-workers. Exhibits respect for co-workers and work areas, i.e. by choosing appropriate personal activities and respecting allergies, etc.
4. Teamwork- Maintains frequent contact with supervisory staff. Provides feedback regarding departmental effectiveness, and ideas for improvement. Fosters teamwork within the organization by helping, advising and sharing information with co-workers. Interdepartmental Teamwork – Consistently behaves professionally and courteously. Offers assistance as necessary or required (such as screening calls for security and ski patrol).
5. Telephone and Computer Skills – Maintains knowledge of: switchboard attendant console (basic and advanced features), voicemail system (guest and employee systems), computer applications (basic and advanced programs as required on a PC)
6. 100% Accurate Information Dissemination – Prepares for anticipated questions, maintains adequate knowledge about resort (such as mountain information, events, activities, restaurants, retail shops, lodging, etc.) and emergency procedures.  Memorizes important extensions to improve speed and accuracy. Always asks questions when unsure so as to avoid providing inaccurate information .

Interactions
1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. No certifications needed for this position

Skills & Knowledge
Technical: 
Operates switchboard console, voicemail system and basic office equipment such as a copier, and personal computer.  Responsible for cleaning switchboard consoles, headsets and desk area. 

Administrative: 
Requires some exercise of judgment within policy guidelines and without supervisory approval.  Understands and follows corporate policies (dress & grooming standards, ski pass policies, etc.). Maintains good habits in the following areas: punctuality, professionality, attendance, productivity, responsible use of break/vacation/sick time, graveyard duties.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1. Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.
2. Specific Shift: 2 nights per week, 11pm - 7am. Sunday and Monday night shifts. Possible day and double shifts.

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1. General office environment with limited physical activity.
2. Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.  General office conditions prevail.  Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
3. Other/Additional:  May require long periods without breaks.
