Job Description

Rules and regulations: 

All employees are expected to follow all policies and procedures outlining standards of attendance, appearance, safety and aggressive hospitality. Questions concerning policies, procedures or specific job duties should be brought to the attention of your supervisor or manager. 

Specific job prerequisites: 

  • ? Must be pleasant in dealing with guests and co-workers. 
  • ? Must be physically capable of performing basic chores. 
  • ? Must be able to endure prolonged walking and standing. 
  • ? Must be able to work under pressure. 

Major areas of duties and responsibilities: 

  • ? Upon arriving, ensure that cashier area is clean, properly supplied and neatly organized Responsible for dusting and cleaning doors, windows and glass walls of entrance display Check tables, chairs, floor and plants to ensure clean and neat appearance 
  • ? Obtain bank from office and maintain sufficient change. Count before opening register 
  • ? Make certain that register has an ample supply of tape at all times. 
  • ? Open tables and input orders into the system upon receiving them from wait staff. Be accurate and efficient 
  • ? Close checks upon requests 
  • ? All cash tips must be placed inside cash box immediately 
  • ? Be able to answer questions about the restaurant in a concise way 
  • ? Answer the phone. Take reservations. Be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • ? Check reservation book. Communicate any special events to restaurant manager 
  • ? Place "open" and "close" signs on the door, accordingly and on time 
  • ? Greet every guest upon arrival and offer assistance 
  • ? Direct guests to the dining room and ensure proper sitting. Make sure the guest is satisfied with their table and wish them an enjoyable experience 
  • ? Provide the highest level of courtesy, hospitality and quality service to guests waiting to be seated 
  • ? Keep control of reservation book to continue directing guests to the right table in case of large parties 
  • ? Help at the restaurant floor during slow periods. 
  • ? Thank every guest upon leaving restaurant. 
  • ? Perform all reasonable tasks assigned by management 

 

Job safety: 

  1. Be attentive to any object, condition or substance that might cause injury to a guest or fellow employee. 
  2. All safety rules to be adhered to. 

 

NOTE: This restaurant operates seven days a week. Because of the nature of the business, employees may be asked to work different hours or perform special duties based on the demands of the guests and the business, so flexibility is required. Fogo de Chao works on a “Merit Increase” pay adjustment policy.
