Job Description

Under the direction of The Inn Director of Housekeeping, ensures that all owner rooms and common areas are cleaned and well maintained up to department quality expectations and standards.
 
Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Assists with the daily operation of the Housekeeping department. Prepares daily work assignments for all staff.
2. Assists with the hiring, training and evaluation of staff. Ensures that all staff meet safety standards and adhere to Snowbird’s customer service standards.
3. Completes quality inspections of work areas, owner/guest rooms and lodge common areas to ensure quality cleaning standards.
4. Assists with the preparation of supplies and cleaning carts.
5. Assists with inventory and ordering to keep department stocked and running smoothly.
6. Assists with the planning and implementation of deep cleaning projects that are scheduled for maintenance and renovation periods.

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3. Must be able to interact and work with vendors and contractors.
4. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Previous experience in a job related field is preferred.
3. Supervisory and customer service experience preferred.

Specific Requirements:
1. Must work closely with many departments including Front desk, Maintenance, Management, Purchasing and Human Resources.
3. Requires a hands-on working attitude with housekeeping staff.
4. Position requires an outgoing and friendly personality.

Supervision/Management:
   This is a supervisory position to assist director or fill in the absence of director.
   The person in this position will help to control and maintain budgets.

Skills & Knowledge:
   Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing to staff and owners.
   Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaker preferred.
   Should be able to interact positively with guests and staff in a variety of circumstances.
    
Technical:
   Position requires a strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals and techniques.
   Some knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is required.
   Must be able to operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, carpet cleaning equipment and vacuums.

Administrative:
   Must be able to assist with maintaining guest supply inventories, cleaning supplies and linen inventories.
   May be required to process requisitions through the Snowbird purchasing system.
   Assist with hiring, training the evaluation of staff.
   Maintain employee work schedules within budget parameters, delegate work assignments and monitor the quality of work.
   Must be flexible and able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
   Must be able to problem-solve guest and employee issues quickly.

Working Conditions & Working Schedule:
   Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
   Shifts may be day and/or evening, but are typically 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Flexibility required.
   
Physical:
   Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
   Position requires a high degree of mobility to perform room and common area inspections.
   Must be able to provide hands-on assistance with cleaning staff as needed.
   Must be able to stand for long periods of time
   Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult.

Mental:
1. Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
2. May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Travel:
   Travel in and around the building is required.
   May require travel between various buildings at Snowbird.
