Job Description

Snowbird is looking to build a strong team of people willing to work during special events, holidays, peak season, Saturdays and Sundays.  If you are looking to earn an extra supplementary income, this is an excellent opportunity.  

Pay: $10.50 + tips during special events
Non special events: hourly wage varies based on position with potential for tips when working during peak periods in other locations.

Under the direction of The Special Events Management Team, provide a positive experience to Snowbird guests and co-workers during all special events including Oktoberfest.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1. Serve all food and beverage guests, exceeding their expectations followed by food and beverage and sanitation standards.
2. Complete any assigned jobs and work any assigned station in order to ensure events are successful.
3. Se tup and tear down the event as directed.
4. Complete assigned side work.
5. Report to work on time and in proper uniform.

Uniform – Solid black pants (must fit waist, no jeans or baggy pants), comfortable solid black shoes (no visible branding, closed toe and heel, black socks. We will provide one uniform shirt, apron, hat and nametag that must be worn everyday once you are clocked in. Weather varies greatly from day to day so always be prepared with jacket, hat and gloves. Events will never be canceled for bad weather but we may send people home.

1. Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2. Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
3. Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Six months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
2. Food Handlers Card and or Alcohol Certification Card, depending on job assignment.

Skills & Knowledge
Technical:
Ability to follow directions, must be able to comfortably communicate in English, ability to work in either a team or individually without constant supervision.

Mental:
1. Stress associated with high volume sales, heavy crowds and high noise levels due to live entertainment.

Physical:
1. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
2. Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
4. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
Other/Additional:  Outside environment in a mountain setting: weather will range from hot and sunny to cold and wet, possibly changing conditions drastically throughout the day. Walking through heavy crowds, up and down stairs, up and down hills.
