Job Description

Bike Mechanic

Purpose
Responsible for repair and maintenance of mountain bikes and scooters.  Take reservations, payment and  liability forms. Sells winter liquidation soft goods and hard goods merchandise. 

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.    Maintain and dispatch bikes and scooters in rental fleet.
2.    Use of phone, email, and face to face interaction dealing with questions regarding activities at Snowbird.
3.    Registration for participation in various activities, liability forms and equipment rental.
4.    Process gift certificates, assist with retail sales, merchandise information, opening and closing and store upkeep. Take payment for various activities.  


Interactions
1.    Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2.    Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
3.    Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Specific Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.


Skills & Knowledge

Technical:    
Strong bike mechanic skills with the ability to maintain, repair and dispatch demo mountain bikes and scooters.

Strong knowledge of winter alpine ski and snowboard gear with the ability to sell winter accessories and apparel along with demo skis and snowboards.

Knowledge about everything Snowbird has to offer. Cash register, and answering emails and phone calls.
Ability to handle, process, maintain and protect guest personal information, including credit card information, in compliance with all company or department policies and procedures according to PCI rules and requirements. This includes privacy and confidentiality, reporting, storage and disposal of sensitive information.  Will not share or disclose any guest personal or financial information to anyone unless authorized by the guest, manager or company or unless disclosure is permitted within departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative:    
Knowledge and understanding of PCI DSS, including the safe and secure handling and maintenance of personal, financial and credit card information of guest/customers.
Self -management, decision making, organizing and planning, multi-tasking, etc.  Precise record-keeping of bike maintenance

Working Conditions

Work Schedule:
- Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.

Mental:
- May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
-  Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
-  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
-  Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
-  Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
