About Fogo de Chão

Fogo de Chão (fo-go dèe shoun) is a dining experience like no other, with a truly unique steakhouse atmosphere from Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil. Our menu features 16 cuts of meat, seasoned to perfection and slow-roasted over an open flame to capture their individual flavor. The savory cuts are presented on skewers and carved tableside by our authentic Gaucho chefs. The meats are complimented by a 30+ item gourmet salad bar, a Wine Spectator award winning 250+ label wine list and full bar. Traditional side dishes of warm cheese bread, fried bananas, crispy hot polenta and seasoned mashed potatoes are automatically brought to each table and replenished throughout the meal. Job Description

We have an opportunity currently available at our Corporate Headquarters, for a:
Field Human Resources Manager

Duties Include:

  • Provides strategic coaching and mentoring to the Area Managers and Managers on employee relations issues including employee development, performance management and employee morale.
  • Manages and responds to employee relations issues to avoid or minimize charges and litigation.
  • Drives reward and recognition programs and develops, maintains and coordinates field reward and retentions programs.
  • Engages new employees and company partners into company history, culture and values.
  • Conduct entry/exit interviews and analyzes data to make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement in the operation.
  • Create and enforce a plan to reduce employee turnover.
  • Accountable for attaining great people results and raising the bar on performance.
  • Coordinate successful restaurant new hires, transitions and following up to ensure each had a successful on-boarding and training process.  Confirming all field based certifications are complete.
  • Manages the annual merit review process for the field.
  • Oversees the calibration of field restaurant management talent; working with Field Leadership Team to drive management development and build people capability.
  • Provides guidance on compensation in accordance to company compensation guidelines and delivers compensation and benefits programs to the operation.
  • Partners with associates and management teams to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Facilitates and provides training to Team Members, Managers and Area Managers on HR related topics.
  • Helps to develop HR processes to achieve great people results and financial results.
  • Conducts HR Audits.
  • Engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues in the field.
  • Communicates heavily with employees and Support Center through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of field HR experience preferably in Restaurant, Hotel or Retail industries.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Portuguese or Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time, as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
