Job Description

The Director of Strategic Programs (“DSP”) is an extension of the Chief of Staff and office of the CEO, with a primary objective to provide the Chief of Staff and CEO with leverage to improve executive team execution. 

The DSP receives direction from the Chief of Staff and ensures execution of the same.  He or she meets regularly with Executive leaders and provides direction and receives progress updates, which are aggregated and presented in Executive Team and Board meetings.

The DSP works behind the scenes to solve problems, mediate disputes, and deal with issues before they are brought to senior leadership.  He or she identifies and addresses gaps in company and Executive Team execution before they become internal or external problems.  The DSP is a confidante and advisor to the Chief of Staff and CEO, acting as a sounding board for ideas and collaborating on communication, goal-setting, and other cross-functional corporate initiatives that support future growth.  The DSP helps coordinate and direct communication by filtering only the most essential communication and working closely with the Chief of Staff and CEO.

The Director of Strategic Programs will interface extensively with Accruent’s senior leadership and board of directors and have the opportunity to learn world class execution practices.  In addition, the Director of Strategic Programs has the unique opportunity for future growth with exposure to senior leadership and complete company operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate cross-functional execution of strategic programs with Accruent’s Executive Team
  • Prioritize varying and competing high value projects and tasks
  • Develop, launch, manage and complete the successful implementation or continuous improvement of best practices and strategic initiatives that enable revenue growth and improve company profitability and efficiency
  • Track the efficacy of various initiatives and help implement the appropriate reporting and metrics to ensure desired results are being achieved
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and preserve the complete trust of all team members
  • Possess the authority and confidence to make lead and decisions by influence and be content remaining largely outside the spotlight.  When functioning correctly, the DSP enables other team members to do great things.
  • Work with the Corporate Development on M&A strategy efforts to help drive integration of synergistic acquisitions
  • Act as a point of contact for strategic interactions with the Board of Directors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's Degree minimum
  • Enterprise software REQUIRED
  • Solid operational experience with the desire to join an organization that will provide a platform for personal growth and a path to one day run a business
  • The leadership and presence to ultimately be a CEO
  • Highly skilled in change management and driving organizational process improvements
  • Strong project management skills, having managed and successfully completed diverse projects on-time and on-budget
  • Strong cross-group collaborator with exceptional general management skills and the ability to build relationships within an organization
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to operate both in the weeds as well as at a strategic / macro level
  • Strong follow through and ability to see projects to completion without significant oversight required
  • Ability to take a concept, internalize it, rally others around, drive its implementation, and identify ways to continuously improve it
  • Open to travel

  • Seven plus years of operational management experience
  • Proven track record of success in improving organizational processes
