Job Description

Pay: $9.50/hr + End of Season Bonus

3-4 days per week - 10 hour days.  Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.

Purpose:
Under the direction of Tram & Lifts Manager
Ensures safe use and operation of Snowbird’s alpine slide, Bungee Trampoline, Chickadee chairlift, Peruvian chairlift, Peruvian tunnel and various other activities.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility
1.Operates the chairlift, slide and other activities in a safe and efficient manner.
2.Ensures area around lift stations and activity stations are free of hazards.
3.Makes sure the daily logs are filled out and correct.
4.Greets guests and gives instructions on sled operation. Answers any guest questions or problems.
5.Loads and unloads sleds safely and efficiently.  Daily set-up, take-down and storage of tents, banners, selds and other equipment.
6.Makes sure everyone participating in the activities has a valid ticket or wrist band.
7.Travel: None

Interactions
1.Direct and continuous contact with guests.
2.Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
3.Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:
1.  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills & Knowledge
Technical: 
Must demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, math and interpersonal skills. Requires basic mechanical skills for maintenance of equipment, sleds, tents and possible use of two-way radio. Requires ability to work well with others.

Administrative: 
Needs to be able to fill out log sheets in a legible manner. Must be able to present and conduct oneself in an appropriate, professional manner.

Working Conditions
Work Schedule:
1.  Specific Shift: 4 days per week, 10:00am - 8:00pm.

Mental:
1.  May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical:
1.  Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
2.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
3.  Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
4.  Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions. 
5.  Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
