We are currently hiring for a Data Scientist who has experience with machine learning algorithm development. The candidate is responsible for designing, simulating, and implementing estimation, predictive and performance enhancing algorithms used in ABIOMED’s family of products.
Develops algorithmic and rule-based models and analytic capabilities based on rules engine, machine learning, mathematical modeling, pattern recognition, and data mining techniques. Performs data analysis and modeling using a variety of analytic techniques, tools, and programming languages to provide business insight and product analytics.

Responsibilities
Create and select predictive features from raw data.
Perform complex data analysis on large volumes data and present model performance to stakeholders.
Develop analytics tool using SQL, R, Java, Perl, Python and big data tools such as Rapid Miner, Weka, Orange, and Tableau.
Prepare and maintain programs and documentation for analytic models
Aligns algorithms with relevant industry requirements.
Conduct defined quantitative and qualitative research projects independently and communicates research results to stakeholders
Skills/Requirements
Job Requirements
M.S. in machine learning, computer science, math, statistics, or an engineering field or equivalent work experience; PhD preferred.
5+ years of relevant data mining and algorithm development experience.
Strong experience in data collection, experiment development, data cleansing, and data analysis using various software tools (Orange, Rapid Miner, R, Weka…).
Strong experience in data mining and machine learning techniques – clustering analysis, attribute evaluation, and classification
Strong communication and collaboration skills
General Requirements
Strong analytical skills and solid background in one or more areas of mathematics, computer science, and/or Statistics
