Job Description

The primary function of the Sales Engineer II is to assist the Account Executives (Salesperson) during the pre-sales process to analyze the Real Estate and Facilities Management needs of the prospective client.  Through extensive interaction, the incumbent will be responsible for designing and presenting solutions within the suite of Accruent’s technology that integrates into the prospect/client’s current environment and meets business objectives. This individual will be trained in market and technical knowledge to consult on best practices as they relate to Real Estate and Facilities solutions and effectively communicating these recommendations to prospects and customers in both presentations and custom demonstrations.

As a member of the Sales team, the Sales Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for SaaS, enterprise pursuits and strategic accounts and will become an influencer on senior and executive leadership concerning product delivery and product strategy. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth transition of customers to the professional services team and working with Product Management to convey customer and prospect requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers professional customer demonstrations of Accruent products, focusing on software functionality, using demo scripts and asking questions to the customer as appropriate.
  • Maintains good product knowledge and some reporting knowledge.
  • Participates in multiple sales cycles with the sales team.
  • Works with other Sales Engineers to perform demos, answer client questions, and respond to RFPs.
  • Serves as the application Subject Matter Expert.
  • Serves as an advisor to products teams.
  • Able to independently complete product opportunity reports and articulate customer feedback on product gaps to product management.
  • Possesses some industry knowledge, and is able to articulate why customers in the industry buy the software.
  • Can list Accruent value propositions from a marketing perspective, and is able to relate the value proposition to the software during a product demo.
  • Travel required (20-50%)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 2-3 years of aggregate experience in Sales Engineering or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Background in sales and customer service is helpful.
  • Knowledge of SaaS/Hosted/On-Premises based enterprise technologies preferred.
  • Experience with the following: Salesforce.com and Microsoft technologies is preferred.
  • Experience supporting a Business Intelligence application is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be customer focused and have the ability to manage and resolve solutions to complex technical issues
  • Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business and technical teams to provide quick and timely responses to prospects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Executive presence with ability to lead brainstorming and interactive sessions with an audience of senior decision makers from sales and marketing.
  • Highly motivated, hands on personality.
