At Timmons Group our interns play an integral role in the success of our Landscape Architecture Group.  Timmons Group is currently seeking an Intern to join our Landscape Architecture Group during the Summer of 2016 at our Corporate Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

The Landscape Architecture team at Timmons Group understands the realities of creating a place with deep cultural, social and community significance. The team’s design approach is visionary, balancing a complex set of existing and proposed features with contemporary goals. This philosophy and unique process is applied to all of our design projects, from military headquarters to urban plazas to intricate gardens. In-depth knowledge of native plants and a broad construction experience results in planting plans that are both beautiful and hardy, and designs that are beautifully executed and long-lasting.  The design team aspires to deliver to each client a landscape that has a truly unique sense of place, where people are encouraged to explore, learn, and observe.

Our interns go at a highly energized pace.  From day one as a paid intern with our Landscape Architecture Group, you’ll learn what it takes to acquire highly marketable skills and experience pertaining to every aspect of Landscape Architecture.  Our college interns take on the same challenges as our first and second year full-time professionals.  We have a highly collaborative and creative environment where it is supportive and fun to work in.  When you join Timmons Group you will discover that every day is different because it is filled with new, exciting, rewarding and often unexpected challenges.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Must be a dedicated student enrolled in a Landscape Architecture Program, at a preferred fourth or fifth year level.  Graduating students will be considered for a 3 month internship.
  • Must have previous experience in AutoCad, Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Timmons Group has been the leader in innovative design consulting within Virginia and surrounding states since 1953. With more than 350 professionals located in offices throughout Virginia and North Carolina, we offer our clients decades of senior-level experience and solve their challenges in creative ways, providing them with innovative solutions at an incredible value.

Interested applicants should submit a resume, portfolio, and references via our careers page at www.timmons.com. Portfolio may be digital or hard copy delivered.

The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

We are looking for high energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starters who are willing to work at a dynamic pace.  Candidates must share a commitment to our company’s Vision, Mission, and Shared Values.
