About Fraunhofer TechBridge:

 

The TechBridge Program is a commercialization model that leverages the worldwide Fraunhofer research network to support early-stage startups. TechBridge helps promising cleantech startups build, develop, and validate their technologies to accelerate commercialization by developing and testing prototypes, deploying field demonstrations, and performing third-party evaluation. Duration: Full-time for a 1-year term, with the potential to convert to a staff position

About the Position:

Fraunhofer CSE seeks an outstanding candidate to support early-stage energy startups’ commercialization efforts through the TechBridge Program. The TechBridge Program Lead will manage day-to-day execution of the program and current projects and assist with developing opportunities and future business contracts. The ideal candidate will exercise fluidity across technical and business domains and excel in communication, technology assessment, project management, and client interfacing.

Principal Responsibilities:

·       Acquire funding for TechBridge projects from commercial sources

·       Participate in discussions with external stakeholders about technology commercialization models and develop successful proposals to secure government support

·       Manage administrative aspects of the TechBridge Program, including metrics monitoring, reporting, budgeting, resource planning, recruitment, and hiring.

·       Lead management and support execution of existing TechBridge programs and individual projects (e.g. TechBridge Challenges), coordinating across clients, startup companies, TechBridge team, and Fraunhofer research groups to deliver high quality work

·       Manage day-to-day activities of TechBridge Fellows, including reviewing and guiding work product, and developing client deliverables

 

Requirements:

·       Highly technically-minded, with the ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts and assess them

·       Capable of developing new partnerships and client opportunities, from discovery phase through final contracting.

·       Able to interface professionally with clients, with an intuitive ability to navigate professional and business interactions among multiple stakeholders

·       Highly motivated to drive projects to completion with efficiency and quality

·       Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills

·       Self-starter, comfortable working autonomously toward self-arranged goals

·       Able to juggle multiple disparate projects simultaneously

·       Basic fluency in energy technology, energy finance, and technology commercialization domains

·       Strong preference for technical degree

·       Strong preference for business development experience

·       Preference for experience in client-facing roles

·       Preference for industrial experience with energy technology development or deployment

·       Preference for experience in market research and business plan development
